The Presbyterian Appalachian Broadcasting Council (PABC) has just released its latest radio public service announcement (PSA) production called Disaster and Tragedy. The CD consists of sixty-five 30- to 60-second PSAs offering God's love and hope as well as encouraging others to help those in need while addressing various natural disasters including: tornadoes, fires, drought, hurricanes, floods, severe winter weather, earthquakes; and human produced tragedy including: terrorism, school shootings, snipers, random killings, senseless violence, plant/manufacturing accidents. These spots address those needs of individuals which are not as evident as physical destruction. They address the spiritual, emotional and mental needs of those suffering.
This CD will be distributed to 1300 radio station across Appalachia, but is also available to radio stations, churches, presbyteries, and synods across the nation.
The Disaster and Tragedy CD is available free to any church body or radio station which would like to reach out to its community in times of crisis. Spots have already been sent to a few of the judicatories in Florida to address the destruction caused by recent hurricanes. All PABC PSAs, are placed, as CD quality MP3s download able for free, on the PABC web site at www.pabconline.org once they are produced.
Unfortunately, these spots are not yet available online, but can be e-mailed to you if requested. Within the next month or two these spots will also be loaded onto the web site.
