Summoned to Lead by Leonard Sweet. A great read for someone looking for a different kind of leadership book. Something that: approaches leadership as an art as well as a science, inspires hope and expectation in those of us who aren’t born leaders, and challenges those with leadership roles to explore new possibilities.

Missional Church Great Reading

A Generous Orthodoxy by Brian McLaren. A thought-provoking rediscovery of the mysterious and compelling ways that Jesus can be embraced across the entire Christian culture.
Missional Church: The People of God Sent on a Mission edited by Darrell Guder. North America is now itself a mission field. How do we respond? Some intriguing answers are found in this book.

The Peace River Presbytery Resource Center is a collection of books, videos, DVD’s, CD’s, curriculum and much, much more. The Resource Center is open to members, congregations, clergy, committees and staff of Peace River Presbytery. Candy Reid is the Program Coordinator for the Resource Center and is available to provide assistance in the following areas:

Ø Ideas for short-term studies for children, youth and adults

Ø Church book club suggestions

Ø Displays for workshops, local church events and retreats

Ø Resource help for youth leaders/advisors

Ø And much more

The Synod of South Atlantic Audio Visual Regional Resource Center provides audio/visual resources for a small fee. Churches in Peace River Presbytery with under 100 members can get resources free.
